NAHB Recognizes Kohler Co. with Global Humanitarian Award for Safe Water for All Initiative
The NAHB (NAHB) Global Opportunities Board proudly presented Kohler Co. with a Global Humanitarian Award for Kohler’s water stewardship program Safe Water for All. The award was presented to Laura Kohler, Chief Sustainable Living Officer for Kohler, at the 2025 Design and Construction Week, featuring the NAHB International Builders’ Show® and the NKBA Kitchen & Bath Industry Show.
Population explosion and extreme weather brought on by climate change have caused a severe water crisis. According to UNICEF, an estimated 1.42 billion people, including 450 million children, live in areas of high or extremely high water vulnerability. Through Safe Water for All, Kohler is helping to bring access to safe water and sanitation to communities living with water scarcity, ineffective infrastructures or the effects of displacement.
“As you look around us, water is at the heart of Kohler,” said Steve Kleber, 2024 chairman of the Global Opportunities Board, who was on-site at the Kohler booth. “That’s why the Global Opportunities Board of the NAHB is proud to recognize Kohler with our Global Humanitarian Award for its actions to conserve this natural resource and make safe water and sanitation a reality.”

Through Safe Water for All, our associates, partners and customers are helping us create solutions that bring sustainable and innovative water technologies to communities in need. The Safe Water for All initiative leverages Kohler’s design and engineering expertise, and the passion and talent of its associates to enable conscious efforts toward sustainable living. This includes collaborating and developing solutions for communities experiencing water scarcity, innovating water saving products, strengthening watersheds where they operate, and partnering with organizations in the field to resource solutions that meet the unique needs of communities around the globe.
